About Delphine Jelk
Career
Delphine Jelk is a Swiss-born perfumer. After studying fashion and working around fragrance, she moved into perfumery. Her important collaboration with Guerlain began with the original development of La Petite Robe Noire in 2009, and she joined the house as an in-house perfumer in 2014. Her current role also involves communicating the direction of Guerlain fragrance creation.
Creative Style & Philosophy
Jelk often uses material, color, fabric, light, and surface as visual and tactile references before giving an invisible scent its form. She respects the house vocabulary of iris, rose, vanilla, and musk while editing it for contemporary skin and distance. Quietness and negative space can be as important as richness in her work.
Signature Works
Her work includes developments of La Petite Robe Noire, the co-creation of Mon Guerlain, and fragrances across Aqua Allegoria and L'Art & La Matiere. In Musc Outreblanc, white musks, neroli, white flowers, rose, ambrette, and iris translate the idea of warmth emerging from cold marble into an intimate skin scent.
