Pacific Rock Swell
A marine-woody extrait that portrays the swell before the break through seaweed, citrus and sun-warmed woods.
Perfumer: Leonardo Lucheze
Pacific Rock Swell was created to mark ten years of Goldfield & Banks and builds on the legacy of Pacific Rock Moss. Its inspiration is the Australian coastline at the moment before the break, when the swell rises, the air thickens with salt and the tide gathers power. The perfumer is Leonardo Lucheze of Takasago.
The opening pairs bergamot and cardamom with clary sage, so bright citrus and cool spice are sharpened by an herbal edge. In the heart, clary sage absolute accompanies seaweed, which gives the marine impression a darker, more textured depth. Geranium, mimosa, fir balsam and labdanum gather around it, adding soft floral notes and a resinous weight that keeps the sea accord from feeling thin.
The base sets Madagascan ylang-ylang beside patchouli, Australian sandalwood and ambergris. As the brightness settles, sun-warmed wood meets a cool mineral clarity, leaving a warm, salt-tinged finish. At a stated concentration of 30%, this extrait de parfum brings bright marine freshness into contact with the depth of seaweed and resins, warm woods and mineral textures.
