Epicentro
Bolognola and life after an earthquake inspire angelica, resins and woods with mate and bergamot.
Epicentro takes the Marche earthquakes of 2016 and 2017 and the village of Bolognola as its subject. Receiving the shock and finding a response afterwards form the artistic idea, within a project created to support the village. Roots, resin and wood meet the greener brightness of mate and citrus.
Angelica roots, benzoin, fir balsam, cumin, amber and guaiac wood form the subject; calamus, ambrette seeds and mate the counter-subject; Virginia cedar, a bergamot accord and cedarwood the tail. Earthier roots and rounded resin meet drier wood, with leaves and citrus giving another outline.
It suggests exploring roots, resin and wood rather than sweeter fruit. The rounded clear 100mL bottle reveals pale yellow liquid, a thick glass base, concentric circles and the fragrance name. Its irregular silver-coloured cap reproduces a fragment of rubble from the village town hall.
