Scent Development and Character
Casa Grande is a richly textured oriental leather built around the contrast of a luscious cherry liqueur accord and dark, resinous warmth. The opening showcases the perfumer’s cherry liquor note, dense and creamy rather than sparkling, already shadowed by curls of Somalian incense smoke. As it settles, Somali myrrh and amber expand a deep, spicy-amber core that feels plush and enveloping, while the signature leather accord grows more prominent, suggesting fine, supple skins and fur rather than raw hide. In the drydown, vanilla absolute and tonka bean absolute soften the structure with velvety sweetness, turning the cherry-amber-leather triad into a warm, almost gourmand glow without losing its refined, couture character.
Who It Is For and When to Wear It
Casa Grande wears as a statement-making, enveloping oriental leather best suited to cooler conditions and more dressed-up contexts. Its dense cherry-amber-leather structure and resinous warmth can feel overpowering in heat, but in autumn and winter it forms a plush aura ideal for evening outings, formal occasions, or intimate settings where a luxurious, tactile presence is desired. Applied sparingly—one to two sprays—it projects with noticeable but controlled presence and leaves a long, warm trail. Best suited to autumn and winter; may work on cool spring nights but is generally too dense for summer heat. Sillage is Noticeable and room-filling without being monstrous; the fragrance is expected to project clearly for several hours before softening into a warm, close aura. Longevity is Long-lasting to very long-lasting; the rich amber-leather-resin structure and use of vanilla and tonka suggest wear times around 8 hours or more on skin with moderate application.
Perfumer and Bottle
Released in 2024, this is presented as Eau de Parfum and credited to Quentin Bisch. Casa Grande is presented in Fendi’s new fragrance line bottle: a hefty, rectangular glass flacon tinted in a warm, colored juice, topped with a faceted black cap and a discreet front label bearing the Fendi name and fragrance title. The overall design emphasizes tactile luxury, evoking fine leather and fur through a minimalist yet opulent aesthetic.
