Sandalwood leads Desert Eden. Its refined woodiness is lifted by bright, showy Turkish rose and mysterious olibanum, the resin also known as frankincense. The scent profile is woody floral: wood as the base, with flower and resin lighting it from two different directions.
The rose brings color and floral glow; olibanum adds depth and a sense of mystery. Laid over the soft warmth of sandalwood, the rose's brightness and the slightly smoky clarity of the resin keep the composition open and luminous rather than heavy.
The inspiration is the first light of the sun falling across a desert at dawn. You are stopped by the vastness of the view, then gradually wrapped in a warm, bright aura.
Estée Lauder places it in the warm wood family and presents it as a scent of confidence and energy. Warm wood underneath, flower and light on the surface: it translates the dawn scene into layers of scent.
