Cinnabar
A Spicy Amber scent in which jasmine and orange flower meet the heat of clove and the earthy depth of patchouli.
Cinnabar sits in Estée Lauder's Spicy Amber family, and the brand describes it as warm, mysterious and endlessly appealing. It singles out jasmine, orange flower, clove and patchouli, saying they blend into an intense, sensual experience. The appeal lies in how floral sweetness, spice and earthy depth are layered rather than kept apart.
The top notes are jasmine, orange flower and tangerine. The white flowers bring fullness, while tangerine adds a bright, peel-like lift, so the opening reads as sweet and radiant at once.
In the middle, clove introduces heat, with muguet and lily keeping a floral layer in place. The dry bite of clove tightens the sweetness of the flowers and gives the composition its shadow.
The base is olibanum, sandalwood and patchouli. Resinous olibanum, smooth sandalwood and damp, earthy patchouli settle the warmth into something low and dense. It suits someone drawn less to an airy bouquet than to the warmth of spice and resin.
