Marem
Red currant and neroli lead to fresher eucalyptus and rose, with warmer amber and cedar.
Marem draws on a fragrance created in 1914 for silent-film actor Alla Nazimova. Bearing her birth name, Marem Levanton, it evokes the bold independence with which she made her way through New York and Hollywood. Red fruit and rose meet cooler greenery and warmer wood within that remembered character.
Juicy red currant and brighter neroli lead towards eucalyptus and Crimean rose. Cooler aromatic impressions meet richer rose petals at the centre. Liquid amber and cedarwood form the finish, supporting fruit and flowers with resin-like warmth and drier timber.
Consider it with evening clothing when floral richness should retain tart fruit and cooler greenery. The current composition was introduced in 2023 and is presented as Perfume by the house. Its illustrated 60mL bottle has short cylindrical embossed glass, yellow colour, a red sculpted pedestal-like cap and a thick clear base.
