Pur Magnolia

A luminous, ultra-realistic magnolia that feels freshly hanging from the tree, brightened by subtle citrus facets and cool green air, remaining transparent, non-sweet, and gently musky-woody from start to drydown.

Scent Development and Character

A lucid, almost weightless magnolia rendered with Cartier’s Les Épures clarity: the opening feels like a magnolia petal snapped fresh from the branch, dewy and bright, with delicate citrus facets and a cool, slightly green freshness. As it settles, the floral heart stays airy and realistic rather than creamy or heady, emphasizing the natural transparency of magnolia over romance or sweetness, with subtle musky-woody undertones adding texture without ever thickening the composition.

Who It Is For and When to Wear It

Best suited to daytime and warm-to-mild weather, this sheer magnolia Eau de Toilette wears close to the skin yet retains a fresh, polished presence for several hours. Its clean, non-sweet profile makes it ideal for office, minimalist wardrobes, and occasions where a discreet but distinctive floral is preferred; in cooler weather it may feel very subtle and benefit from more generous application or layering within the Les Épures de Parfum collection. Especially well-suited to spring and summer, when its dewy magnolia and fresh brightness feel most natural, yet still pleasant in mild autumn weather; in winter it reads as a very subtle, intimate floral. Sillage is Soft, close sillage that creates a gentle aura within arm’s length, more noticeable in the first hour and then remaining as a discreet, personal veil. Longevity is Moderate longevity for an airy Eau de Toilette: typically 4–6 hours on skin, with the magnolia remaining present but increasingly close to the body after the first couple of hours. These are editorial estimates derived from the official composition and concentration and will vary with skin and climate.

Perfumer and Bottle

Released in 2020, this is presented as Eau de Toilette and credited to Mathilde Laurent. Transparent rectangular glass bottle from Cartier’s Les Épures de Parfum collection, with very pale, almost colorless juice and minimalist typography reading “Pur Magnolia.” A slender metallic collar and cap echo Cartier’s three-row ring design, giving a refined, jewelry-like finish. The selected 75mL image was checked against the brand's earlier library capacity and official size offering.
