Utopia Mist is one of five fragrances in Anna Sui's Wild Wonder collection, which grows out of the designer's fashion and creativity. The Japanese site sketches the collection as a string of dream scenes, from a highland echoing with droplets to a utopia waiting beyond the mist. That second image is the one this name calls to mind.
The brand files it under floral spicy and speaks of a warm spiciness with a modern, earthy character. Saffron and pink pepper open on a dry heat, while yuzu threads a thin line of sourness through them.
Raspberry flower, wild Tuscan orris and midnight violet form the heart, giving the spice a layer of petals to settle into. Pink sugar and tonka bean sweeten the drydown, and cashmere wood keeps that sweetness soft.
