Scent Development and Character
A boozy, resinous leather with a luminous fruity opening. Brandy and crisp apple brightened by bergamot and saffron give a sparkling yet slightly smoky first impression, before sinking into a dense heart of benzoin, myrrh, cinnamon and rose that feels like polished wood warmed by candlelight. As it settles, labdanum, frankincense and supple leather weave a burnished, almost theatrical aura, equal parts smoky, balsamic and subtly animalic, with the apple-brandy shimmer lingering over the ambered base.
Who It Is For and When to Wear It
Overture Woman is best suited to cooler weather and evening wear, where its boozy, resinous leather can unfold without becoming overwhelming. It feels at home with formal tailoring and special occasions, but its polished sweetness and rose allow it to be worn as a statement fragrance for confident daytime use in autumn and winter. A light application goes a long way; two to three sprays create a distinct but refined trail that lingers for many hours and clings noticeably to clothing. Best in autumn and winter, with limited use on cool spring days. The boozy amber-leather structure can feel too dense for most summer conditions. Amouage’s Signature Collection feminine flacon in opaque glass, here in a deep copper-bronze tone with a metallic finish, crowned by the brand’s fan-shaped cap in matching metal and set with a small crystal, paired with a clear rectangular base and fine-sprayed atomiser.
