AKATSUKI
A woody musk of marine, iris and dry wood around musk, built on a concept of light breaking into a dark sky and of new encounters.
AKATSUKI belongs to an early-spring series that pairs ume, the Japanese plum, with Tokyo, under the phrase that the plum blossom is the first of a hundred flowers. The concept opens with light breaking into a pitch-black sky, then turns to closing a chapter on one's past self and to the idea that encounters, carried on many winds, weave a life together.
AHRES describes it as a skin perfume, blended after studying how scent rises from the skin once applied. Each fragrance is matched with one original soundtrack made by an artist, and this one comes in 50 mL and 8 mL sizes.
The brand classes it as a woody musk built on marine, iris and dry wood, describing elegant musk joined by sharp marine notes and powdery iris given a dry, glossy edge. Ambrette seed, a plant-derived material with a musky character, opens the pyramid beside lime and marine, linking the top to the musk in the base. Violet, iris and cyclamen form the floral middle, and musk, amber and dry wood the base. The dark sky and light of the concept can be read in this pairing of cool sea notes and soft powdery flowers.
