Grounded

Grounded began with the memories of a cofounder raised in southern China. Her childhood rituals of praying to the Earth God on the first and fifteenth days of the lunar month became an expression of respect for nature. Bright mandarin and grapefruit meet cumin and cardamom, leading toward the smoke of olibanum and incense. Patchouli, guaiac wood and amber add warm depth. Called Kun Yuan in Chinese, it evokes incense connecting earth and sky, and the support of woods and resins. Ochre and dark brown abstract shapes decorate its clear 30 mL bottle, topped with a cork cap.
