About Romano Ricci

Romano Ricci is the founder and perfumer of Juliette Has a Gun. Born into a family associated with perfume and fashion, he chose not to reenact a surname but to develop a contemporary character who can be romantic while protecting and asserting herself.

Career

Designer Nina Ricci was his great-grandmother and fragrance executive Robert Ricci his grandfather. Rather than depending on formal school alone, he learned fragrance creation over about seven years through work with perfumers including Francis Kurkdjian, Isabelle Maillebiau, and Pierre Bourdon. In 2007 he founded his own house, joining composition, product, narrative, and business.

Creative Style & Philosophy

The brand's central character is not a heroine waiting to be protected but a person with agency and seductive power. Romance meets rebellion, innocence meets sensuality, and humor prevents weighty themes from closing the entrance. Technical reduction is used not for minimalism alone but to turn the wearer's attitude into one legible sign.
