Miro Branimir Senjak
A LUZI and Brani perfumer connecting scent, memory and creative design.
About Miro Branimir Senjak
Miro Branimir Senjak is a perfumer working with LUZI and his independent Brani Fragrances practice. Based around a fragrance laboratory in Zurich, he combines perfume creation with marketing. The ability of scent to bring back memories drew him toward the craft, while repeated adjustments and trials with other people remain part of his working method.
Career
After studying engineering, Senjak developed perfume bottles at Mäurer & Wirtz. Olfactory training connected the aromas of pine, lavender and a sea breeze with earlier memories and encouraged him to pursue perfumery. He began in marketing at Drom, where Master Perfumer Maarten Schoute trained him in composition. He later developed his own Brani Fragrances practice alongside work at LUZI.
Creative Style & Philosophy
Childhood summers on Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast form part of his olfactory background, with plants, warmer earth and a saltier breeze among the impressions he recalls. He can spend months refining a composition and trying it on people. His work also considers fragrance in food packaging, exploring how scent can connect with impressions of appearance, taste and texture.
