About Marine Ipert
Marine Ipert grew up between the mountains and the sea in southern France. Lavender, mimosa, jasmine, orange blossom and rose marked the changing seasons of her childhood. With a perfume-loving mother and a father who tended the family garden, she developed an early sensitivity to scent and an interest in translating everyday experience into fragrance.
Career
A meeting with a Grasse perfumer at thirteen helped her recognize her vocation. She entered ISIPCA in 2010, then spent two years as an apprentice at IFF before continuing at Symrise’s perfumery school. She became a junior perfumer in 2015 and a perfumer in 2019. In 2023, she joined Takasago’s Fine Fragrance studio, following work for clients across European, Asian and North American markets.
Creative Style and Philosophy
Drawing has interested Ipert since childhood. She conceives a scent through texture, shape and color, seeking precise, polished lines that still carry meaning. Exploring different cultures, landscapes, tastes and sensations gives her new material to interpret. Her approach also values respect, trust, learning and exchange, connecting a clear creative idea with the knowledge gained through conversation and practical experience.
Signature Works
- *Spicydelice* — Created for Maison J.U.S, whose perfumer profile places the work within her interest in olfactory translations of everyday things.
- *Le Jardin Blanc* — A SABON composition that evokes a secret white garden through floral tea, jasmine, gardenia and the softness of woods.
