About Marc Fanton d’Andon
Marc Fanton d’Andon is a French perfumer with a long association with Robertet. His work extends from body care and bath products to niche fine fragrance, with a particular affinity for fruity and gourmand compositions and for soft, tactile impressions.
Career
He joined Robertet in 1981 and trained under perfumer Micheline Vachot, progressing from junior to senior perfumer. His career has included fragrances for international body-care brands and lifestyle collections as well as perfumes for European niche houses. In Japan, his work also includes the Floral Herb fragrance for Mellsavon, a floral composition developed for the brand's everyday cleansing products.
Creative Style & Philosophy
Juicy fruits, lighter flowers, clean musks and creamy woods are recurring elements in descriptions of his work, giving the compositions a rounded, approachable texture. He relates perfume to a musical score that develops as it progresses, with individual materials entering at different moments. That interest in sequence gives the changing relationships between ingredients a place alongside the immediate impression of a scent.
