About Julie Lerendu

Julie Lerendu is a perfumer from the Paris region who works at Robertet's UK creative centre. Her childhood brought together the art and culture of Paris and the natural surroundings of the forest of Marly, while her interest in perfumery developed around its ability to make emotions vivid.

Career

Lerendu entered ISIPCA in 2014, completed an internship at Firmenich and subsequently gained experience with L'Oréal and Mane in Paris and New York. The CORPO 35 competition brought her third prize and an artistic prize in 2017; in 2020, a meeting with Michel Almairac led her to Robertet's perfumery school, where Emilie Bouge guided her training. She joined the creative team in Grasse in 2022 and moved to Robertet's UK creative centre later that year.

Creative Style & Philosophy

Lerendu sees perfumery as both exciting and demanding, with an unusual capacity to bring strong emotions to life. Her artistic award recognised her expression of Robertet's natural raw materials, and her Boadicea The Victorious creations have used materials including patchouli and vanilla. Those works connect fragrance with symbolic imagery and architectural impressions, giving concrete form to the themes behind each commission.
