Jacques Cavallier Belletrud was born in Grasse in 1962 and grew up in a family of perfumers. He developed his career at Charabot, Quest International, PFW, and Firmenich before becoming Louis Vuitton's master perfumer in 2012. He leads the house's fragrance creation from Les Fontaines Parfumées in Grasse. That position joins the maison's travel heritage with direct access to the materials, growers, and technical culture of his home region.

Creative Style & Philosophy

His work often makes materials feel clear, luminous, and fluid. Richness is not automatically translated into heaviness; transparency and persistence can coexist. Citrus, flowers, tea, and musk retain recognizable contours while being arranged at a distance that can work in both space and on skin.
