Émilie Bouge is a French perfumer born into a Grasse family whose connection to fragrance reaches back two centuries. Rather than treating that inheritance as a fixed tradition, she combines it with an international palette and contemporary technical discipline.
Career
After studying chemistry in Nice, Bouge entered ISIPCA in 1996 and began her career close to natural raw materials. She later gained experience across Asian and Middle Eastern markets, joined Robertet in Grasse, and became a senior perfumer at Takasago in 2025. She has also played a central creative role at Brécourt, a house that reconnects her family history with modern personalized perfumery.
Creative Style & Philosophy
Bouge approaches materials as carriers of emotion and narrative rather than as a checklist of notes. Her method develops distinct facets, tests them carefully, and then calibrates their proportions until the composition expresses a coherent feeling.
