Jujube
A jujube fruit theme lending rounded fruit associations beside flowers, spices and woods.
Fruity
About Jujube
Jujube is the small, stone-bearing fruit of a tree in the buckthorn family. It is also known as Chinese date. As a perfume note, the name communicates a fruit association; it does not establish that edible fruit or a particular natural extract was used in the fragrance formula.
Scent Profile
The theme can suggest rounded ripe-fruit or dried-fruit character. Actual young jujubes have an apple-like flavour, while mature fruit becomes brownish-purple and wrinkles in a way that resembles a date. These botanical observations concern the real fruit’s taste and appearance, rather than providing a measured description of its perfume note.
Use in Perfumery
The official English page for MIYA SHINMA PARIS Kouzome places jujube fruit in the heart, beside rose, clove and precious woods. Benzoin and vanilla support the base. Within that composition, a rounded fruit impression offers a connection between floral brightness and the sharper edge of spice, extending into warmer woody materials.
Fruit and Blossom Are Different Themes
The jujube tree also bears small fragrant flowers. Fruit and blossom should therefore be read as separate fragrance descriptions and distinguished according to the product’s official wording. The alternative name Chinese date does not make jujube the same plant as a date palm. Similar names can carry different botanical meanings, which matters when interpreting a perfume’s materials.
