About Loquat Leaf

Loquat, Eriobotrya japonica, is an evergreen tree in the rose family. Its thick leaves have prominent veins and coarsely toothed edges. The upper surface is green, while fine hairs cover the underside. Loquat leaf names a fragrance impression inspired by this foliage.

Scent Profile

The central idea is a green, leaf-like character. It is distinct from a note named for ripe loquat fruit or flowers. Combined with other materials, the accord offers a way to suggest clear greenness or the impression of being surrounded by plants.

Use in Perfumery

Alongside herbs and citrus, a loquat leaf accord can form part of a greener opening. It can also provide a foliage-like counterpart to softer floral impressions. As an accord, it uses a combination of materials to express leaves; the name does not designate one particular essential oil.
