Roger & Gallet does not reserve fragrance for exceptional evening dress. Washing with soap, layering scented care, and stepping outside form one continuous Parisian ritual. A botanical subject therefore reaches beyond smell into foam, touch, color, and an accessible pleasure of daily use.
History
Armand Roger and Charles Gallet established the house in 1862 after acquiring Jean Marie Farina's Paris perfume workshop. The official history places that workshop within a lineage extending to Aqua Mirabilis at the end of the seventeenth century. During the nineteenth century the house developed its round scented soaps and practical travel cases, bringing hygiene and perfume closer together. It continues to unite fragrance and body products around its Paris identity.
Philosophy & Signature Style
Brightness from distilled plants, the sensation of freshly washed skin, and the small change of mood created by repeated use are central. Citrus, florals, tea, woods, and herbs are composed without sealing away water and air. Interest in ingredients of natural origin is connected to the whole gesture—opening, lathering, applying, and layering—rather than reduced to a percentage claim. Fragrance becomes a form of wellbeing through use, not a promise that a scent alone can provide treatment.
