About Parfums de la Bastide

Parfums de la Bastide is a French fragrance house founded in 2014. Based in Aix-en-Provence, it draws on the citrus fruits, flowers and aromatic plants of southern France. Its perfumes are made in workshops in Grasse, connecting contemporary compositions with the materials and working traditions of Provence.

History

William Bouheret and Anne-Cécile Vidal established the company together after careers in the fragrance business, including Annick Goutal. They placed Provençal materials and local craftsmanship at the centre of the project. The house has operated a boutique and online shop since its founding and extends its approach to candles, soaps and other fragrances for everyday surroundings.

Philosophy & Signature Style

The house gives priority to the scent itself and favours natural raw materials. It works with local craftspeople in small batches. Perfume production includes maturation, maceration, chilling and filtration before each bottle is filled and finished by hand. The compositions explore different sides of familiar plants, from brighter peel and aromatic leaves to sweeter fruit, woods and resins.

Iconic Fragrances

Éclatant centres on lemon and verbena, while Insouciante places rose beside pink pepper. Exquise combines fig fruit and leaves with Bourbon vanilla. Sillage extends the house’s Provençal inspiration towards tea culture, bringing bergamot and a tea accord together with sandalwood. These examples show how individual materials provide the starting point for distinct landscapes and textures. The collection spans citrus, floral, green and warmer woody themes within the same regional perspective.
