About Nina Ricci

Nina Ricci is the Paris house in which a mother's couture, shaped directly on the body, was extended by her son into business, image, and perfume narrative. Femininity is not confined to passive sweetness; it is repeatedly renewed as joy, color, movement, and the freedom to choose.

History

After a long couture career, Nina Ricci's son Robert established the house for her in 1932. Nina directed design while Robert handled business and communication, and the company grew rapidly before the war. A perfume division took shape in the 1940s, while the house also participated in the traveling miniature couture exhibition that carried postwar Paris design abroad. Nina Ricci joined Puig in 1998 and has continued through changing designers and perfumers.

Philosophy & Signature Style

Working fabric directly on a mannequin produced movement and a line that followed the body rather than a hard external construction. Florals, fruit, spices, and woods in scent can be arranged with air inside their romanticism. Just as the two founders contributed different skills, the contemporary house is not sealed within one voice. Multiple talents co-create the feeling of their own moment through optimism and a small measure of rebellion, keeping softness active rather than merely decorative.
