About NEHAN TOKYO

NEHAN TOKYO is a bath care and fragrance brand launched in Omotesando, Tokyo in June 2015. Umai Chemical, based in Naruto, Tokushima, established the brand and its first shop together. It aims to make everyday moments feel a little softer through bathing and scent.

History

Umai Chemical traces its roots to salt production begun in 1599. Today it manufactures magnesium sulfate, also known as Epsom salt. The wish to move beyond supplying materials and offer finished products for people’s lives led to NEHAN TOKYO, with a range of bath salts and body care. The brand introduced its first perfumes in 2025, coinciding with its tenth anniversary.

Philosophy & Signature Style

Product development emphasises simpler formulas, combinations of materials suited to a particular purpose, and new ideas. The brand considers how ingredients work for a product and its users, rather than judging them solely by whether they are natural or synthetic. Small production lots are also part of its stated approach to reducing waste.

Iconic Fragrances

The first three eaux de parfum launched on 18 June 2025. ROBE translates the softness of satin and veiling through flowers. MANCHETTE reflects rain-washed Omotesando and relaxed tailoring through musk and spice. SHODO layers woods, resins and hay around the time spent practising calligraphy and the textures of a Japanese interior.
