About Guy Laroche
Guy Laroche is a Parisian couture house founded in 1957. Its creator sought graceful silhouettes that gave women freedom of movement, and the fragrance range offers another way to shape a personal presence through flowers, woods, and spices.
History
Laroche developed sketches into drape and silhouette, working from haute couture into ready-to-wear as his collections traveled beyond Paris. His work included the tuxedo for women, softening masculine lines through a feminine approach. The house’s fragrance heritage continues alongside that history of garments and the people who wore them.
Philosophy & Signature Style
Attention to the relationship between designer, fabric, and wearer sits at the heart of the fashion house’s story. The perfumes describe contrasting moods: Fidji evokes a floral island landscape, while the Drakkar range explores aromatic freshness, depth, and woody warmth. These different subjects give the fragrance offering both an expansive floral expression and a more concentrated aromatic character.
Iconic Fragrances
Fidji takes inspiration from the Pacific islands, placing galbanum and iris around a bouquet that includes ylang-ylang, jasmine, and rose. Drakkar Noir is an aromatic fougère, Drakkar Bleu turns to the power of the ocean, and Drakkar Intense develops a deeper impression of rich woods and warm spices.
