About French Cowboy
French Cowboy is a fragrance house founded in Paris in 2025 by perfumer Ashley Santiago and Adrien Ollat. It aims to bring the craft of fine fragrance into scents that feel approachable and easy to explore.
History
The name pays tribute to Ashley’s Mexican grandfather, who worked as a cowboy, and to Adrien’s French heritage. Ashley leads the olfactive and creative direction, while Adrien develops the business structure and strategy. From the first two fragrances, they invited collaborators working outside the perfume industry into the creative process.
Philosophy & Signature Style
A chef’s understanding of flavour or a dancer’s physical expression can become a starting point for scent. Collaborators take part in discussions over several months, contributing a creative perspective rather than simply appearing in a campaign. Ashley, a perfumer at Givaudan, directs the fragrance work, with an evaluator from the same house also involved. Production takes place at the Groupe Primordial manufacture near Arras in northern France.
Iconic Fragrances
Mezcal Chocolat explores contrasts between a spirit-inspired accord and cacao with chef Mathis Molinié. Pear Pavlova draws on dancer Allie Goodbun’s balance of lightness and strength. Fig Lemonade gives lemon the central role, while Vanilla for Breakfast, created with Mia Fall, approaches vanilla through milky almond and different extractions. Together they show how familiar food and drink references can lead to distinct fragrance textures.
