About ELLA K
ELLA K is a French fragrance house founded by perfumer Sonia Constant, turning memories of travel into scents. A place, an encounter or a brief change in atmosphere provides the starting point for a composition. The perfumes invite the wearer to explore a personal landscape through smell, just as an image can preserve a moment through light.
History
Constant launched the house in December 2017 and opened a boutique in the Palais-Royal in Paris. The name connects the explorer Ella Maillart with the initial of her maternal grandfather, Kucea. ELLA K is also an imagined traveller, inspired by pioneering women and their willingness to pursue unfamiliar places, experiences and ways of living.
Philosophy & Signature Style
Travel supplies individual moments rather than a fixed story that every wearer must experience in the same way. The dragonfly drawn by Japanese artist Senjiro Nakata links metamorphosis and courage with the letter K, while also expressing the house’s connection with Japan. The bottle’s simple geometry takes inspiration from Constant’s camera, bringing scent, illustration and object design into a shared language of memory.
Representative Fragrances
Poème de Sagano evokes Kyoto’s bamboo through citrus, green textures and matcha. Pluie sur Ha Long places flowers within the humid atmosphere of Vietnam, while Lettre de Pushkar joins Indian rose with spice and woody depth. Each gives a particular place its own olfactory expression.
