About EAGG
EAGG is a Japanese fragrance brand that began in 2020 as a candle label. Led by producer Ayano Nakahara, it captures small everyday moments through scent and gives each creation an evocative Japanese title.
History
Nakahara studied product design and later wrote for the fragrance web magazine SCENTPEDIA before launching the brand in autumn 2020. It started with handmade candles meant to bring a sense of calm, then gradually expanded into eaux de toilette and reed diffusers, all made in Japan. On April 1, 2023, EAGG opened its first directly operated store at Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku in Tokyo, and marked the occasion by adopting an all-capital logo and replacing its beige key color with an eggshell white.
Philosophy & Signature Style
The name combines the letters "ea" shared by "each," "heal," and "ease" with the word "egg." Together they express the hope of soothing people, giving them room to breathe, and letting new values hatch from that calm. Nakahara says the scents draw on scenes and feelings from her own daily life: a pause for breath, a change of mood, a sweet evening with someone you love. Each fragrance carries a poetic Japanese title, and the brand presents its scents as messages that can pass from one person to another.
Iconic Fragrances
Examples of its eaux de toilette include HOSHIFURU YORUNI, WALTZ NI NOSETE, and AWAI YAKUSOKU, whose titles translate roughly as "on a night of falling stars," "set to a waltz," and "a faint promise." The names read like short lines of poetry, and the brand hopes each recipient will imagine their own story beyond the words.
