About Clinique
Clinique is a skincare and makeup brand founded in New York City in 1968. Today it belongs to The Estée Lauder Companies and is sold in more than 100 countries worldwide.
History
The brand began with a question a Vogue editor put to dermatologist Dr. Norman Orentreich: can great skin be created? His answer was yes, and Clinique was built on that conviction. Its Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion became an early staple and remains one of the brand's best-known products decades later.
Philosophy & Signature Style
Clinique centers its work on dermatologist-guided formulas, rigorous allergy testing, and straightforward routines designed to deliver results. Its skincare and makeup are made without fragrance, a principle that applies to those categories rather than to its perfumes. The fragrance line stands on its own, offering scents meant to be worn and enjoyed for their character.
Iconic Fragrances (or Did You Know?)
Happy pairs ruby red grapefruit, bergamot, and mandarin with Hawaiian wedding flower and mimosa in a bright fruity floral. Aromatics Elixir is a chypre, a family characterised by a woody, mossy base. It sets Bulgarian rose, orange blossom, jasmine and ylang-ylang against patchouli and oakmoss. Together they show two very different sides of the house: one light and sunny, the other dense and unconventional.
