About CIRO

CIRO is a perfume house born in New York in the 1920s and revived by Rainer Diersche in 2018. Historical fragrance names return through newly interpreted compositions by contemporary perfumers, accompanied by bottles that recall the visual language of Art Deco.

History

Founder Jacob S. Wiedhopf began a perfume import business in 1921 and released his own fragrances in 1923. By 1936 the house also had a presence on Place Vendôme in Paris, developing its collection alongside striking bottles and inventive advertising. Following Panorama in 1961, the brand entered a long period of dormancy. Diersche, the founder of home-fragrance house LINARI, revived CIRO through new interpretations of its historical creations.

Philosophy & Signature Style

The stories behind older names become contemporary compositions of flowers, spices, leather and woods. Fuller material textures accompany a recognisable bottle design: transparent glass framed by dark sides, rounded shoulders and a substantial cap. Tradition offers a starting point for perfumes intended to engage the wearer’s feelings and imagination, while allowing modern perfumers to approach the themes in their own way.

Iconic Fragrances

Chevalier de la Nuit depicts the city at night through clove and woods, while Maskée imagines a masquerade through flowers and honey. Columbine turns a character from Italian comedy into osmanthus, suede and softer powdery textures, connecting a historical theatrical image with a modern perfume.
