Bottega Veneta is an Italian luxury house established in Vicenza in 1966 by Renzo Zengiaro and Michele Taddei. Beginning with leather craftsmanship, it has extended its approach to ready-to-wear, jewellery, homeware and fragrance.
History
The early house distinguished itself through soft, supple bags without prominent logos or heavy hardware. Introduced in 1975, the Intrecciato technique of interlacing narrow strips of leather became a signature that could be recognised through both sight and touch. Bottega Veneta joined Kering in 2001, continuing to develop its collections around materials, craft and design.
Philosophy and Signature Style
The idea of combining materials to create a unified object also informs its approach to scent. Alta comprises ten eaux de parfum built around Intrecciato duos, pairing an ingredient from Italy with another from elsewhere in the world. The collection contrasts the lightness of citrus, herbs and freshness with woods, resins and warmth, giving the idea of weaving an expression beyond leather.

Montebello, part of Alta, centres on blood orange and neroli, offering a bright meeting of citrus and flowers. It illustrates the collection's interest in the character that arises when different materials are brought together. Patterned glass bottles and wooden caps carry the house's attention to texture into the objects that hold the fragrances, connecting their appearance to the craft vocabulary of the wider house.
