About 19-69

19-69 is a fragrance house founded by Swedish artist and product developer Johan Bergelin. Its name refers to his birth year and to the cultural energy surrounding 1969, when music, art, counterculture, and new forms of self-expression reshaped public life.

History

Conceived in Stockholm, the house introduced its first fragrance collection in 2017. Each composition begins with a particular place, period, film, musical scene, or cultural figure, then reshapes that reference so a contemporary wearer can add a personal story rather than simply revisit the past.

Philosophy & Signature Style

The brand presents fragrance without fixed borders of gender, nationality, or generation. Saturated bottle colors and direct typography provide the visual language, while citrus, flowers, spices, woods, and musks are arranged in vivid contrasts. Nostalgia is treated as active material: the freedom and resistance associated with earlier scenes are translated onto present-day skin.

Iconic Fragrances

Representative fragrances include Capri, with Mediterranean light and bitter citrus; Villa Nellcôte, inspired by rock culture on the French Riviera; Purple Haze and Higher Peace, which channel creative counterculture; and the bright Italian mood of Yes Please!. Together they turn the atmosphere of places and cultural memories into wearable scenes.
