Voodoo Chile

About This Fragrance

Voodoo Chile is an Eau de Parfum from Dries Van Noten's early 2022 beauty line. Officially framed as woody aromatic, it was composed by Nicolas Beaulieu and takes its name from the Jimi Hendrix track. The key idea is to make rosemary hot and dense, almost like a distorted guitar. The midnight blue glass bottle with an engraved metal leaf base and refillable design is part of the fragrance's identity.

Scent Profile

The opening combines cannabis accord and rosemary. Instead of a clean kitchen herb, the effect is bitter, green, resinous, slightly smoky, and faintly metallic. Lentisque and patchouli pull the scent downward into balsamic resin, earth, and dark wood. Cedarwood and sandalwood essence form the drydown, leaving dry cedar bitterness and smoother skin-close wood rather than vanilla sweetness.

Who It's For

This fragrance suits people who enjoy herbs, resin, patchouli, dry woods, and darker green scents more than sweet vanilla or soapy freshness. It works best in autumn, winter, cool spring weather, or summer nights. It fits live music, bars, galleries, black or khaki jackets, and occasions where a distinctive fashion-oriented scent makes sense. Start with one or two sprays and judge it after the woody drydown appears.
