La Dompteuse Encagée imagines restricted thought and language meeting the brightness of a white flower. Introduced in 2021, it places an image of cold snow and an approaching avalanche beside the gentler light of frangipani and almond. Shiseido’s Japanese introduction also describes the fuller white flower of plumeria as central to its inspiration.
Frangipani brings fuller flowers into contact with the richer yellow-floral character of ylang-ylang. Almond adds a smoother, rounded texture beside their sweetness, giving the brighter floral theme a gentler softness. These three notes combine vivid flowers and a more restrained almond character, with the fragrance’s sense of light emerging from that balance of floral richness and softer texture.
