Bois de violette
Cedar and violet meet brighter cardamom, joining deeper wood with the softer floral texture of violets.
Perfumer: Christopher Sheldrake
Bois de Violette grew from the woody theme of Féminité du Bois. Introduced in 1992 and composed by Christopher Sheldrake, it imagines violet leaves and small flowers discovered at the edge of a thicket. The colour of that unexpected find brings a more playful floral character to the wood.
Cedar gives the composition a drier woody outline, while violet adds softer flowers and a powdery texture. Cardamom contributes brighter spice beside the gentler floral sweetness. Together, these three notes connect smooth wood and flowers with a fresher impression of foliage, preserving both the quieter softness of violet and the livelier aspect of the woodland scene.
Consider it for quieter daytime clothing, or when softer flowers should meet a woody frame. This is a suggestion from its inspiration and composition. The illustrated 75mL Eau de Parfum has rounded shoulders, a spherical glass stopper, pale yellow liquid, a black label and a flared glass base.
