Acqua di Sale
A marine scent of seaweed, wild myrtle and dry cedarwood that evokes an empty Mediterranean beach on a summer morning.
Acqua di Sale dates from 1996, the year Profumum Roma was founded, and belongs to the house's Mediterranean family. It pictures an August morning on a beach no one has walked yet: the waves have left fresh shells on the glittering sand, and the air smells of salt and an easy sense of freedom.
A briny seaweed accord opens the scent. Wild myrtle then comes through at the heart, adding an aromatic, herbal edge, before dry cedarwood settles in as the base. The house compares that final wood to the line of the horizon, clean and spare, and the composition fades out lightly, like the calm that follows a swim alone.
With its pairing of salt and dry wood, Acqua di Sale suits hot daytime hours and days spent by the coast or near water.
