Meliora
Blackcurrant and raspberry brighten rose and ylang-ylang, with vanilla and praline providing a softer base.
Perfumer: Nathalie Lorson
Meliora begins with the playful brightness of raspberry before moving towards rose and ylang-ylang. Created by Nathalie Lorson and introduced in 2013, it connects livelier fruit with gentler flowers and warm vanilla. The manufacturer’s description places the buoyancy of berries beside a calmer floral character, then gathers them into the base.
Blackcurrant, raspberry and lemon form the opening, followed by rose, ylang-ylang and jasmine tea at the heart. Vanilla, musk and praline round off the sweetness in the base. Brighter berries meet the softer impression of flowers and tea, allowing the composition to move from lively fruit into a warmer, more rounded sweetness without losing its floral centre.
Consider it for daytime outings when brighter fruit and flowers suit the occasion. This is a suggestion from its composition. The illustrated 75mL Eau de Parfum has clear glass, a gold-coloured cap and white tassels, with pale liquid and raised decoration visible through the transparent bottle.
