Santal
Plum and violet imagined in a forest of precious woods, with Australian sandalwood, saffron and labdanum.
Perfumer: Amélie Bourgeois, Arnaud Poulain
Santal imagines a gourmand bouquet of plum and violet encountered in a forest of precious woods. Australian sandalwood, rose and saffron connect strength with delicacy in the house’s nature-inspired setting. Arnaud Poulain and Amélie Bourgeois created this 2021 eau de parfum.
Bergamot and plum introduce bright citrus and soft fruit. Rose oxide and violet give the heart a defined rosy edge with a powdery softness. Australian sandalwood, saffron, labdanum, Ambroxan, cedar and musk provide smooth wood, resin and warm spice underneath. Fruit and flowers lead into the rounded character of sandalwood rather than a sharply dry wood alone.
The black cylindrical 100mL bottle carries a square black cap and fine gold detailing. It is an inviting choice for a quiet evening with supple wood, especially when fruit and floral softness add to the appeal.
