Rose or Die brings brighter rose into a setting of smoky black tea and wood. Created by Frank Voelkl for the 2024 Absolue Les Parfums collection, this eau de parfum suggests the quietness of revisiting older memories. The perfumer wanted the contrast of smoke-like tea with the delicate freshness of rose, allowing softer floral light to emerge within deeper, darker tones.
Around centifolia rose, a peony accord adds airier flowers and subtle sweetness. Black tea extract brings astringency and smoke-like nuances with smoother depth. Guaiac wood fraction contributes woody, balsamic warmth with lighter honey-like and tobacco-like facets. Within the Halo construction, flower, tea and wood work together, letting the delicacy of rose emerge through the darker atmosphere. It offers a combination of softer flowers, drier tea and calmer woody texture.
Consider it for quieter reading time or an outing in deeper colours, when you want tea and smoky wood alongside rose. The selected transparent cylindrical 100mL bottle shows purple-mauve liquid. A gold-coloured cap and round plaque accompany the product and brand names, while a rose motif appears in the thick glass base.
