Damask Rose is the only listed top note, so the perfume opens with the flower itself, sweet and full-bodied from the start.
Grapefruit, Amberwood and Sage make up the middle. Placing the bittersweet brightness of citrus here, rather than at the top, is a distinctive choice, and it cuts a clear, slightly bitter line through the rose's sweetness. The herbal green of sage and the dry warmth of amberwood then draw the floral heart gradually toward wood.
The base pairs Labdanum with Musk. The resin's deep, faintly sweet tone and the softness of musk gather the rose's brightness into a calmer, more settled finish.
