Vanilla & Anise sets out to retell vanilla in a contemporary key. It sets the delicate impression of the vanilla orchid alongside the richness of Bourbon vanilla.
On one side sits the vanilla orchid, delicate and floral. On the other, bourbon vanilla brings an oaky, caramel-like depth, closer to wood and toasted sugar than to the flower it comes from. The tension between the two keeps the sweetness from settling into a single flat tone.
Star anise lends a dry, faintly licorice spice that sharpens the edges. The result stays close and warm on skin.
