Leder 6
A sweet leather that keeps the frankincense-and-storax base of the 1921 Spanisch Leder and wraps it in milk and vanilla.
Leder 6 is built on Spanisch Leder, an earlier classic from J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin whose composition dates to 1921. The aim is to carry that traditional character into the present, and Leder 6 arrived in 2015 as a new perfume that keeps part of the old formula.
The part it keeps is the base. Frankincense and Japanese storax resin were taken over from Spanisch Leder, and the house hears in them the illicit sensuality of older days. Smoky incense and sticky, balsamic resin settle at the bottom with a low, dark heat.
Above that, leather notes and saffron blossom open the scent with a dry, hide-like grain and a warm thread of spice. In the heart, softly enveloping milk and pure vanilla bring an unexpected warmth. Leather against milky sweetness: the house frames it as old perfumery meeting today's wild Berlin nights.
