Eight & Bob conceived Le Geste d'Edmond as a tribute from the brand to Edmond Albius. In the house's telling, his ingenuity as a young man left a lasting mark on the history of vanilla cultivation, showing how much one person's inventiveness could change the story of a prized plant. This extrait de parfum is part of the Les Extraits Collection.
As the dedication suggests, vanilla sits at the centre, yet the scent does not open on sweetness. At the top, Madagascar ginger oil brings a bright, tingling bite. In the heart, Madagascar cinnamon and clove add a warmer, drier spice that thickens the texture. The base is built around Bourbon vanilla, supported by the tonka-style Tonkalactone and the amber-toned Ambrostar, which take in the heat of the spices and settle it into a smooth sweetness.
Because ginger and spice give the vanilla a clear outline, it suits people who enjoy sweet scents but want some edge to them. It also fits cool days out or a quiet evening. Starting with a light application makes it easier to find the balance between spice and vanilla.
