SAYU
A floral musk skin perfume of fruit, four flowers, musk and cedarwood, paired with a poem of morning-dew light and a clear morning.
Developed as a skin perfume, SAYU was formulated after studying how scent rises from skin, with attention to the balance of its materials. It is a floral musk built on black currant, jasmine and musk, which the brand describes as fresh, with a glossy clarity.
At the top, bergamot, apple and grapefruit meet blackcurrant, also known as cassis. Bittersweet citrus meets the tart sweetness of dark berries and the juiciness of apple. The heart lists rose, carnation, muguet (lily of the valley) and jasmine, where carnation's clove-like spice adds a small shadow among the brighter flowers.
Musk and cedarwood make up the base, their softness and dry wood supporting the flowers and fruit from below. The alcohol is derived from sugarcane.
Like each scent in the range, SAYU has its own original soundtrack, music that crosses genres and is meant to work as background listening too. The accompanying poem describes warmth welling up in the heart under the light of morning dew and a clear morning opening out, ending where purity and strength come together.
