About William Fraysse
William Fraysse is a French perfumer who learned every stage of fragrance production in Caron's workshops and succeeded to the house-perfumer role in 2016. He worked alongside his father, Richard Fraysse, for roughly fifteen years before taking sole creative responsibility.
Career
At eighteen he entered a perfume factory and learned bottling, manufacture, and troubleshooting from the ground up. A 2000 placement with a raw-materials company in Grasse developed his knowledge of ingredients and essential oils. At Caron he then produced historical formulas and selected the materials needed to preserve them. Pour Un Homme Sport in 2015 was his first solo fragrance.
Creative Style & Philosophy
Fraysse has expressed a preference for woods and green materials and a commitment to high-quality ingredients, traditional techniques, and modern forms. His production experience allows him to consider stability and manufacture alongside the creative formula.
That workshop background is central to understanding his role. He approaches a perfume not only as an idea on paper but as a formula that must remain coherent through weighing, production, maturation, and bottling. His documented work therefore connects archival continuity with practical manufacture.
Signature Works
- *Pour Un Homme Sport — Caron, 2015* — His first solo composition, refreshing a lavender core with lemongrass and ambergris.
- *Infini — Caron, 2018* — A contemporary reconstruction of Caron's traditional floral vocabulary.
