Tanguy Guesnet is a French perfumer who considers intimate memory and technological possibility within the same creative practice. Fragments of childhood taste and smell are converted into clear structures able to speak to contemporary life.
Career
Born in Dijon, Guesnet studied chemistry before entering ISIPCA's program in cosmetic formulation and sensory evaluation, graduating in 2017. At IFF he began through technical and innovation placements, then progressed through research, formulation, and assistance to perfumers. After developing as a young creator, he moved into a fine-fragrance perfumer role in 2025.
Creative Style & Philosophy
Personal memories, including time with his grandmother and the taste of strawberry milk, are not left as nostalgic copies. Proportions of fruit, leaf, wood, and musk are moved boldly to bring them into the present. He is interested in a future where scent can be shared digitally, but technology is not the destination; it is a means of returning human sensation to communication through screens.
