About Sidonie Grandperret

A French perfumer and Senior Perfumer at LUZI, the Swiss fragrance house. She began her career in quality control before moving into raw material evaluation and formulation, and now creates fine fragrances for international brands.

Career

After studying aroma and perfume science at the University of Montpellier, she trained at Robertet in Grasse and spent six months with Jean-Claude Ellena at Haarmann & Reimer, now Symrise. She worked in quality control at Synarome, then joined Polarome as a raw materials perfumer, handling evaluation, formulation, and production. In 2010 she moved to LUZI, first in quality control and from 2012 as a perfumer.

Creative Style & Philosophy

Her background in raw material evaluation informs a precise, ingredient-led approach. She recalls the time with Ellena as a turning point in understanding odors through form and image, linking analysis with representation. Working closely with perfumers, production teams, clients and suppliers also gave her a practical understanding of how a fragrance develops from a material into a finished composition.
