About Nicolas Beaulieu
Nicolas Beaulieu is a French perfumer who sees fragrance not as a statement projected from afar but as something that brings people together and prompts a smile. Damp earth, farm smells, roses, kitchen spices, and music from his childhood near Provins formed an early model for joining unlike sensations through pleasure.
Career
A school counselor introduced him to ISIPCA. After graduating, Beaulieu entered quality control at IFF in Ireland, then studied at the company's internal perfumery school in the Netherlands. Technical work in functional fragrance preceded fine fragrance and assignments in New York, Shanghai, and Paris. After becoming an IFF Vice President Perfumer, he joined Symrise Fine Fragrance in Paris as Vice-President Senior Perfumer in 2025.
Creative Style & Philosophy
Natural ingredients and synthetic molecules are not opponents; they can bridge distant families such as bright citrus and textured woods, lightness and sensuality. Like cooking or wine, the purpose is less to display technique than to let the wearer feel at ease in their own skin. Even a complex formula should keep an open entrance, balancing discovery with convivial pleasure.
