About Mylène Alran
Mylène Alran is a French perfumer whose practice is grounded in the landscapes and everyday crafts of southwestern France. Observation learned in woods and gardens becomes floral volume, the softness of fabric, and warmth that surrounds the skin.
Career
Raised near Albi, Alran grew close to forests and the rose garden at home. After studying chemistry, she entered Robertet as a trainee in 2010 and learned with Jacques Flori. She then developed as a junior perfumer under Michel Almairac. Further fine-fragrance work at fragrance houses has deepened both her understanding of natural materials and her command of contemporary formulation.
Creative Style & Philosophy
She begins by observing a material quietly, allowing intuition to indicate a direction before fixing a story intellectually. Flowers and plants are not rendered as literal copies but as textures resembling light through fabric, clothing around the body, or a seasonal garden. Strength does not have to mean volume; the fragrance should create a natural place around the wearer.
